JH Softball Results
04/19/2021

I can't begin to explain how excited Debbie Lewis and I are to have the opportunity to coach JH softball.  March 22 we decided to pull together and get a team. Our first practice was March 25th. We had 11 girls show up. Due to UIL rules we were able to open up the 6th graders.

Our team NOW has 27 girls wanting to play. We don't believe in cutting, so have been able to figure out a way to ensure every girl gets to play in at least 2 games.

Our 8th grade girls have been a huge help in encouraging and demonstrating correct batting and throwing form.
Our  first game was 4/8 against 2A Rivercrest
We played 1 game - double header.
1st 60 min-  The score was 0-7- Hannah Craft and Holly Hance pitched.                                  Holly had 2 strike outs . Hannah Craft had 1 strike out ,a double, and 1 stolen base.
2nd 60 mins-  The score was 0-10. Kyla Bain and Camila Marquez pitched. Kyla Bain had 1 stike out and 1 stolen base, Camilia Marquez had 1 strike out and Miranda Smith had a stolen base.

Our 2ND game was  4/15 home against  1A Yantis
1st 60 minute-   The score was 3-1. We had 13 base runners- Yantis only 3. Hannah Craft and Holly Hance both pithed. Hannah faced 6 batters and struck out 4, 1 double, 1 single, 1 stolen base.  Holly Hance struck out 3, had a double, and stole 1 base. Emily Hodges stole 2 bases, Ronnye Tull 1 double, Adyson Hazel 1 double & stole 1 base, Esmeralda Flores had 2 stolen bases, Shelby Dry stole 1 base.  Amazing Game.
2nd  60 min.- It started raining & our 2nd group faced the same group as 1st group.  The score was 1-8.  Kyla Bain pitched striking out 2 with 3 stolen bases. Hadley had 2 stolen bases.

The girls voted of team members who were the most encouraging through the games.
Team Spirit Awards  Holly Hance, Hannah Craft, Ronnye Tull, Madison Porter.
This last game I was amazed how many girls received 3-4 votes for being encouraging. We have stressed to the girls its NOT about winning but gaining experience and learning the game. We are very proud of the girls.
