Bobcats Baseball Win!
04/23/2021
I just wanted to pass along that the Bobcats won the game against PCCS last night 18-8. It Was a great come-from-behind victory. Justus Craft and MJ Hale pitched for us last night and did a great job. Our defense played great getting several base runners out on run downs and great throws to home to keep them from scoring as well.

PCCS got a 6-3 lead in the first three innings with good defense and timely hitting. They caused us to rush a few throws that lead to some unearned runs. The Bobcats were putting the ball in play at the plate, but we were hitting them right at people.

Our bats came alive in the bottom of the 3rd inning with Antonio Flores leading the way. He had two hits in the bottom of the 3rd as the Bobcats batted through the lineup. Justus Craft had a great hit to deep right-center field and several others had hits and great at-bats during the inning.

It was the other things that should make us all proud. PCCS is a private school out of Terrel and our boys treated them very well and with respect. Coach Easley and I try to teach the boys to play the game the right way and with sportsmanship which came full circle last night at our game. The PCCS Coach came over after the game and told the boys thank you for treating them respectfully. They had been mistreated all year long by other teams, parents, and coaches. Our boys talked to them on the bases and between innings. When they made a good play, our boys told them that it was a good play and they appreciated it so much. One of their boys fell chasing a fly ball and Jackson Burton stopped at second when he could have easily taken third base because he knew the young man was hurt. We offered ice for the injury and they said that he didn't need it but appreciated the offer. After the game, each one of their players and coaches came over and spoke to our team thanking them for their show of respect and sportsmanship. He asked me to thank the parents, teachers, and community of Fruitvale that made it out to the game for the show of respect demonstrated by the boys and fans as well.

It was a great day to be a Bobcat.....

Our next game will be in Yantis on Tuesday at 4:30.
Our next Home game will be next Friday and it will be Senior Night and I hope that you can all make it to the game.

See you at the Ballpark....
