Please read the important information below regarding spectator expectations at games and the new TASO 3-strike policy.

Good Afternoon. UIL rules have become stringent this year in regards to fan expectations at
games. The expectation of spectators for Fruitvale ISD is to be supportive participants for our
student-athletes and community. Fruitvale ISD will not condone nor tolerate spectators
complaining or ridiculing the teams participating, opposing fans, game officials or
coaches. We want our kids to have a positive experience as a student athlete, and allow
them to compete and play the sports they cherish.
Parents and spectators should be aware that Fruitvale ISD can remove them from the premises
and can prohibit them from attending future contests due to undesirable behaviors. Game
officials may also ask that school administrators have fans removed from a contest facility.
Spectators must understand questioning calls by officials, expressing dissatisfaction
with officiating, officiating from the stands, etc will not be tolerated by the officials
association and can result in the removal of the spectator from the facility. The Texas
Association of School Officials organization has a three strike policy. After three incidents in
which any spectator has to be removed at the request of the officials, the organization can
refuse to officiate our games. Without officials, we cannot play the game. Students will then
not be able to participate in that sport because officials will not come to our district. We
cannot play the game these young people love without officials.
Coming to the team bench or onto the court/playing field or team bench area can result in an
ejection, as no parents or spectators are allowed on the court or field unless given permission
by coach or administrator.
Upon two strikes against our district we will begin playing games without spectators. We
will not put our kids in a position not to be able to play because of fans. Fans ejected
depending on the situation may not be allowed to attend future contests, so please
remember this at contest, you want to be able to see the kids compete.
If you want to attend school contests, we ask you exhibit self control and be there to
support the kids, coaches and officials. We want you there to cheer and be a positive
