A Message from the Superintendent for 2019-2020
08/01/2019

Fruitvale ISD Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  We are excited about the education we will be providing to your child again this year. Our staff has worked all summer to get ready for the upcoming year, and they are well prepared to meet the needs of students and families.

We will be offering a Bobcat Bonanza Night on August 15th in the High School from 4:00 until 7:00.  There will be several activities including school supplies provided by local churches and our McKinney Vento program, meet the teacher night, a hot dog supper, online registration, a blood drive and more, it will be a bonanza of activities for you and your child. You may drop off school supplies in classrooms and meet your child's teacher(s) during this event. We will even have a Chalk the Walk for parents who want to leave a motivational quote or message on the sidewalks for students first day.

The Fruitvale ISD school board has worked to improve facilities this summer with brand new paint and flooring in the elementary and annex building. We also have a new paint and design in the cafeteria with additional pieces being added next month. We have added an RTI Reading Intervention teacher on the elementary campus and a career counselor/project director to the junior high/high school campus. Our district has been blessed with multiple grants to provide even more for students at Fruitvale including Lowe’s grants, ICIA grant, Lone Star STEM grant, Blended Learning grants and more with innovative programs for our district. Following us on our Facebook page, Fruitvale ISD, or on our website at www.fruitvaleisd.com will give you more information on these programs.

We have several district changes to improve services to students and families. We have restructured the district to work cohesively as a whole team. Both principals will now serve in district wide roles as deans. Zach Masterson will serve as the Dean of Student Services, and will work with students and families in several areas. He will be who parents contact with concerns for their students after meeting with the classroom teachers. Charles Harford will serve as the Dean of Academic Services and will work with the instructional staff daily to improve academic programs in the district.

I am very thankful for the wonderful education I was provided, and that my children are being provided at Fruitvale ISD.  Fruitvale ISD’s school motto is “Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow.” I truly believe we are developing tomorrow’s leaders today at Fruitvale ISD. It truly takes the entire community working together toward a common goal to achieve success for our students. I can't wait to see each one of you supporting your children with their educational efforts.

Research is clear that parent involvement is the single most important factor in a child’s academic success. So, we want to work with you and your child to be successful each day. Thank you for entrusting your most valued possession, your children, to our district. We appreciate you, and we love your kids!

 Sincerely,

 Rebecca Bain
